Achieving Excellence Together

Article 28
Every child has the right to an education.

Article 29
Education must develop every child’s personality, talents and abilities to the full. It must encourage the child’s respect for human rights, as well as respect for their parents, their own and other cultures, and the environment.

“Oakwood is an exciting place to learn.” (Ofsted)

We believe Oakwood Primary School is the very best local school for our children and our community.

This is because everyone shares in Achieving Excellence Together.

We are committed to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, particularly Articles 28 and 29 above.

"Achieving" means doing something successfully with effort, or skill or courage.

"Excellence" is the quality of being outstanding or consistently good.

"Together" means with other people.

At Oakwood:

It means accomplishing something despite it being difficult or challenging.

It means doing something better than you did it the day before.

It means developing everyone's talent and qualities so they are the best they can be.

We know that everyone excels at something.

It means we respect others and their rights.

We know that we only achieve excellence when we value our relationships and our community.
