This page gives you updates on improvements to the building and grounds.
Roof
The Local Authority have confirmed that the project continues to be a full replacement, not just patch repairs.
The most recent update stated: “A Value Engineering exercise has now taken place and some savings have been identified. We still require an uplift to the current budget however, a Delegated Decision Notification (to approve the uplift) is being drafted and this will be signed off by the Executive Director. The project team is working towards a speedy start on site and a construction/works programme will be shared in due course.”
Windows
We had new windows at KS1 in summer 2023 as part of the Capital Works Programme funded by the Local Authority. This completed the initial project which started with the KS2 windows.
Heating
The heating is currently working and the replacement of the older hot air heating in Key Stage 1 is on the Capital Works Programme for the Local Authority. We had a design team visit the site as part of the replacement programme on 18 January.
School Grounds
We have a rolling programme of grounds maintenance across the site. You may often see or hear the grass being cut, bushes being pruned and leaves (oh the leaves!) being blown.
We have recently upgraded our KS2 climbing frame after the old one, which had been in situ for approximately 20 years, finally gave up on us!
The new frame looks amazing and the ground work really sets it off too!
Gates and Fencing
The new fence and electric vehicle gates along Sandpiper Road have vastly improved site security.
Refurbishments
This year so far, we have had six out of 12 pupil toilets refurbished. Year R, 1 and 3/4 pupil toilets are now brand new! We are very pleased with the results and the children think they are great.
School Field
We are currently in the process of regenerating the school field. New fencing has been installed and this was funded by a Football Foundation Grant. Similar funding has also been secured to regenerate the playing surface on the school field.
